Bug Watch: Course Link to Assignment in Blackboard Produces Error When Clicked

Currently moving to the latest Blackboard October 2014 release, we have discovered one of the known issues with this latest release regarding Course Links to Assignments. Anytime a student or instructor clicks on the Course Link that has been linked to an Assignment in another part of the course, it produces an error (see below). The error is a known issue with Blackboard both from existing and new Course Links create to link to Assignments only. Other course links to folders, modules, discussions, tests, and other materials should not produce this error.

One of the workarounds for this issue would be to move the Assignment into the area in which you are currently using a course link. You can accomplish this by click the drop down next to the assignment’s name and choosing the “Move” option. This will allow you to select a place in the course to move the assignment. You could create course links to folders or modules as well.

We will update this blog once a patch or fix for this issue has been developed by Blackboard.
