YouTube has announced that the webcam capture feature will not be available on YouTube after January 16, 2016. Previously, if you had a webcam built in or connected to your computer, you could record a webcam video on YouTube and upload it directly to the site through the Blackboard Video Everywhere tool (Record from Webcam option in the text editor).
Valencia’s new video delivery platform, Kaltura has a record from webcam feature and can make sharing webcam videos with your students easy. Students can also use this feature anywhere the text editor is available.
Kaltura also has the ability to record screencasts and upload videos created on your computer. Additional Kaltura tutorials are available at http://valenciacollege.edu/oit/learning-technology-services/faculty-resources/kaltura.cfm
If you would still like to use YouTube for your webcam captures, an alternative is using software on your computer to record and save a webcam video, and then upload the video to YouTube. Popular software includes Photo Booth for Mac OS X and Camera for Windows 8+.
