Textbook Affordability Survey

Please share this with your students.

We know that textbook affordability is a critical issue for our students.  Over the past few years, there have been multiple reports, committees, task forces, and even federal and state legislation to address textbook affordability.  The Open Access Textbook Task Force identified a need to hear from students, and to that end, a statewide committee developed the online Florida Student Textbook Survey. The goal is to learn from our students, through recent personal experiences regarding acquiring textbooks, the impact of textbook costs on their education and textbook format preferences.

In an effort to assist the Community Colleges, Colleges and State Colleges and the Florida Distance Learning Consortium in addressing textbook affordability statewide, we are requesting that you use campus communication avenues to direct students to participate in a short survey (estimated to take students 15 minutes or less to complete) at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/JJFRMFV.   We do, however, need student responses to be completed online.  We anticipate distributing this survey each year to obtain longitudinal data regarding textbook affordability and the impact of our initiatives.

If you encounter any problems or have any questions, please contact Susie Henderson, shenderson@distancelearn.org or Robin Donaldson, rdonaldson@distancelearn.org, or by calling 850-922-3359 to reach the Florida Distance Learning Consortium.
