Non-Discrimination Policy Guidelines

 

Valencia College shall widely communicate its policy of Nondiscrimination and Equal Opportunity to prospective students, current students, prospective employees, current employees, prospective vendors and existing vendors.

The statements below enable a wide variety of printed and electronic communications to include meaningful reference to the policy. It is Valencia’s intent to provide the most comprehensive versions of the statements in the most significant (highest-exposure) publications or digital environments through these guidelines.

The policy, approved in December 2012 by the Valencia College District Board of Trustees, is the primary communication and source material. It is published on Office of Policy and General Counsel website, on the Policies and Procedures web page.

    Exemptions

    These guidelines are meant as suggestions for stylistic consistency. Versions of the statement are not mandatory in any of the items listed above when space constraints or additional costs make it prohibitive. In addition, a nondiscrimination statement is not indicated for the following items:

    • College stationery and business cards
    • Invitations to special events – i.e., arts/performing events, building dedications, business forums, etc.
    • Event programs
    • Outdoor billboards
    • Signage
    • Email and email-distributed marketing materials – i.e., Constant Contact, MailChimp, Raiser’s Edge, etc.
    • Course syllabi, routine business forms – i.e., travel forms, Valencia-published print or e-textbooks, and educational materials
    • Broadcast advertising (radio and TV)
    • Digital advertising (banner ads)
